The Stars and Widows vs. America
This summer, two Asian-Oceanic women’s ultimate teams will be on tour in the US. Check them out when they’re in a city near you!
The Asian-Oceanic All-Stars were born in Australia and will include women from throughout the region. Players come from eight countries, from as far north as South Korea to as far ocean as New Zealand, and they have coaches from four countries (and a wonderful manager from another).
The Black Widows were born in a collaboration between Philippine And Singaporean friends. The primarily hail from Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Read (a lot) more about the Black Widows in my Ultiworld article about them.
Both teams are excited to show off our region’s talent on the other side of the ocean. Upon returning, all of these athletes have plans to share what they’ve learned with their local ultimate communities and to promote women’s ultimate in Asia.
